Business Growth
Growth comes from leadership. True leadership comes from your values, your strengths and really knowing who you are, that innate and inimitable personality which is you. Whether you are leading your own small business or a leader in a larger business knowing these key components is crucial to true success.
Having been my own boss and self- employed for 25 years, I have spent many years trying to make my business better. I have always made a good living, but there were many years, ok most of them where I was unhappy because of what I was missing. I couldn’t see how to make it better. With every inch of my being I knew there was a better way, there just had to be. I spent a tremendous amount of time, energy and money trying to make it better. I felt like I was running up a mountain made of quicksand. I would make a little progress up the mountain every now and then, but it was exhausting.
Simply put I was looking for the solution in the wrong places. I spent a lot of time being very angry. I was angry with myself, angry with employees and angry with customers. When I finally saw it, the solution was so simple it almost eluded me. The truth that I had found was hard to handle because I had spent my entire life trying to deny it. I was trying to deny myself, my true self. Every successful business every successful leader is true to itself. Understanding who you are is the key. Once you see it and live it you will never go back.
The process I used to see the answer came from a few different places. I read dozens of books, took many tests, consulted with hundreds of companies, gurus, consultants, coaches and just about anyone who would listen. When I finally got it, I got it and I boiled all of the previous resources down to a few simple tools and a philosophy. This process which I call the upward inward process is what I want to share with you. Even more exciting than setting myself free is the opportunity to set others free.
To me there are two main criteria for success. One being the monetary success and the second being a sense of fulfillment, passion and being engaged. we have all heard the stories of the entrepreneur who can’t wait to get out of bed every morning and start working on the current project at hand. Since I had this collective epiphany not only has my original business flourished, but a few more businesses I have started are flourishing as well. Everyday I’m excited to work on what lies ahead. Everyday I’m passionate, fulfilled and engaged.
I know the sense of struggle and the pain you are suffering. I lived the same way for many years. I would love to share what I have learned with you knowing we can make things better for you and your business.
